i still think that the our country should prevent exportation of old coins as once its out its lost from the country for ever if it were up to me i wouldnt allow any coins to leave the country.

Absolutely beautiful coin. In my opinion Britain is the best country to do metal detecting in the world ;)
And france and other western european countries are great spots too ;)

Sweeeet Ole Gold…Congratulations Mark

@Bell2trac Single gold coins are exportable, We pay the farmer 1/2 the value in order to keep the coin. In the cast of really expensive coins like the one I will post in a day or two it is put up for auction at a leading auction house and the procedes are split between the farmer and finder. Most common coins are 50 to 100 pounds to the farmer

@Bell2trac Hi Ron I had missed the video on laws when I made this post, you explain it quite well! Thanks!

Bell2trac February 21, 2012 at 10:52 PM

Ron when you find a single gold coin like that Lizzy, do you need to contact the local coroner and is there any problem in keeping it? Would love to go hunt the fields in England sometime!
